Description
"Vernon ""June Bug"" Baird's airplane, parked about 100 yards from the family home in Strathmore, CA, was stripped of its motor and other parts in February, 1938 by a thief in the middle of the night. This telegram told Baird of the recovery of the parts in Southern California. The thief, captured in Burbank, CA, was identified as Lowell Lee. (Photo courtesy of Nancy Baird)"
