Tan label for Simi Vineyards' Hotel Del Monte Selection brand Sonoma cabernet sauvignon red wine, with a black and white drawing of the "original Hotel Del Monte, 1880.
Simi Winery was founded in San Francisco, California in 1876 by two Italian brothers, Giuseppe and Pietro Simi, who had immigrated to the United States during the California Gold Rush They moved operations to Healdsburg, California in 1881. Produced for the Hotel Del Monte in Monterey, Calif. The Hotel was later taken over by the U.S. Navy and became the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School.
