Description
Full title:Kenneth Sugioka, young Nisei, at work on a precision lathe in the defense plant of the Hathaway Instrument Company in Denver, Colorado. Young Kenneth, a former orchardist, was born and raised in Hollister, California, where he took an active part in church and community activities, was a mate (adult leader) of a troop of Sea Scouts, and pursued a hobby of metal working. A voluntary evacuee, he moved to Denver and found a place where his talents as a precision machinist could be directly employed in the manufacture of war materials.
