Description
Full title:Kay Kunisaki at work in his vegetable department in Douds' Hollywood super-market, where he recently returned to from Heart Mountain. He is waiting on a customer while the market proprietor, Mr. S. J. Douds, stands in the background. We are glad to have Kay back, and so are the customers, Mr. Douds said. Despite owning a modern home close to Theatre Mart and around the corner from Alexander Pantage's former estate, Mr. Kunisaki has housing troubles. The growth of Los Angeles requires a new super-highway to be cut through his property so he has to move his house. Meantime his wife, Tamawa, and children Thomas (12) and Kenji (10) are still at Heart Mountain. Photographer: Mace, Charles E. Hollywood, California.
