Full title:1st Lt. Shigeru Tsubota points out where he was serving in Italy with the 100th Battalion. Lt. Tsubota is a graduate of the University of Hawaii and did post graduate work in vocational education, specializing in agriculture. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the reserve in Jan. 1940, called into active service in March, 1941, and promoted to 1st Lt. in August 1942. He is now undergoing treatment at the Moore General Hospital for shrapnel wound in his leg. Photographer: Van Tassel, Gretchen Swannanoa, North Carolina.
