Description: Plate 1 in number IV of Cruikshank's self-published, nine-part serial, "My Sketch Book" (published 1834-1836), each with four plates by Cruikshank. (See also related double-sided drawing, 1989.21.1664A-B). Like his earlier publication, "Scraps and Sketches," "My Sketch Book" provided a forum for Cruikshank to share his opinions on contemporary matters with the public.
