Description: Inscribed on album's end paper: "The proofs of the 1st series in this vol. were purchased by me of Mrs Geo. Cruikshank on the 1st August 1887, the second series later in the same year. No set of proofs was in either of the sales of Geo. Cruikshank books held by his Excu. at Sotheby's or Christie's & I have never seen but 4 sets. H.W. Burton June 23d 1901."
