Description
Full title:Miss Grace Sumida and Mr. Shiro Muraoka are shown at their work. Mr. Muraoka, a young Issei, is filling bottles with an orange juice preparation and Miss Sumida who works in the office is checking it. This has been an interesting development from the first since a large percentage of Negroes are employed as well as Caucasians and Nisei. Relations are very friendly. Both are well liked and well paid. Miss Sumida, formerly of Rohwer and Los Angeles, lives at the Hostel where her mother acts as assistant to the Director. Mr. Muraoka, also of Rohwer, came to Cincinnati with his family to join other members of his family who were relocated here. Photographer: Iwasaki, Hikaru Cincinnati, Ohio.
