Full title:A mother of Japanese ancestry is shown packing strawberries in a field a few days before evacuation. Her soldier son, who was granted leave to assist his family to evacuate, is shown beside her. This community is depending on their returned service men for many errands, shopping, banking, etc., because they are the only ones permitted to travel into town, nine miles away, which others cannot, under military orders.
