Description
Full title:Sgt. Isamu Sanemitsu takes his mess in the ward at Moore General Hospital, Swannanoa, North Carolina, where he is recovering from a broken leg and ankle suffered while in Italy with the 100th Battalion. Sgt. Sanemitsu was inducted into the army in Hawaii on March 23, 1941, and has been serving with a medical detachment as a surgical technician. He was suffering from stomach ulcers before going overseas but would not disclose the fact as he did not want to be kept from going with his outfit. He is now undergoing treatment for this as well as for his leg and ankle. Sgt. Sanemitsu has a brother in training at Camp Shelby with the 442nd Combat Team. Photographer: Van Tassel, Gretchen Swannanoa, North Carolina.
