Description
Work from La Cruz exhibition curated by Amalia Mesa-Bains and Enrique Chagoya, assisted by Sal García. This is a three-dimenional piece enclosed in glass that consists of two parts. The left side is a sculpted figure of the crucified (and anatomically correct) Christ whose limbs recede into the plane of the background. The right side is a cross made of bound sticks and twigs that "floats" in front of a portal-like opening.
