Terminal Island, an artificial island in the Los Angeles Harbor and Long Beach Harbor, was the American base of the Japanese fishing industry until residents were forcefully arrested or evacuated between 1941 and 1942. Motoyoshi Murakami holds the vegetables he will take with him during his evacuation from Terminal Island.
