Description
From the Nine Chicano Artists Exhibition (January 8-February 2, 1989) at Maple Creek Gallery, San Diego, CA. This piece is a modified hubcap. A three dimensional tin heart was riveted together and a square window with bars was inset in its center. Jesus' face is visible behind the bars. A funnel was attached to the heart at its cleavage and multi-colored strips of twisted metal have been placed in its opening. The heart was affixed to a saw blade, and this, in turn, was fastened to the hubcap. This detail shows the imprisoned Christ. Cat.1 014(1) The artist of any work retains all rights to that work.
