The reenactment of the 1769 Gaspar de Portolá expedition reaches Los Angeles City Hall, where musicians and costumed actors are gathered. Gaspar de Portolá was appointed Governor of Las Californias from 1768-1770. During that time, he expelled the Jesuits from Baja California and led expeditions by land and sea to settle colonies on the California coast.
