Description
Annotations/Markings: Signed "信天翁獻" (Shinten'ō ken) followed by two seals at upper left edge following inscription. One additional seal at lower right corner of painting and one seal at upper left preceding four-line inscription, which reads: "In my studio I grind the ink until it is fragrant, / And burn an aromatic oil lamp beneath my table. / Trusting my brush to sketch as it will, / I urge on an untrammeled spirit, / Perhaps depicting a flying waterfall, / perhaps creating clouds." (translated by Stephen Addiss)
