- Description
- Annotations/Markings: Signed "壬子_清和月 古道人" (Fourth Month of 1912, Kodōjin) followed by two seals at upper right corner following inscription. One additional seal at upper right corner preceding inscription, which reads "By nature I am clumsy at earning my food -- / I admire the ancient sages for their reclusion! / Myself, I plow the bottom of hidden valleys / Or chant atop peaks among white clouds. / Gathering herbs, I follow deer and roebuck, / For brewing tea, draw water from rocky streams. / "Free-and-easy wandering!" My wishes are satisfied: / From time to time the bright moon comes, / its reflection appearing right in my cup of wine" (translated by Stephen Addiss).
