Description
Plunge in Orange City Park (renamed Hart Park in 1964), Orange, California, ca. 1950. Image shows seven men lined up on diving board, three identified as Leo Mathis, Pat Richardson, and Vic Sutton, trying to make one fall into the pool. The Orange Plunge was built jointly by the city and the WPA in 1935-36, and officially dedicated in 1937. A bandshell was added west of the Plunge in 1938.
