Pioneers of Old Newport, Mr. and Mrs. James McMillan and John McMillan. Mrs. McMillan wears a polka-dotted long-sleeved high-collared dress and eyeglasses. She stands between the two men, one wearing suspenders (possibly John). A house is partially visible behind them. James and John were brothers, originally from Scotland. James was born in 1854 and John in 1862.
