Description
Stanislaus County was producing more peaches than anywhere else in the world by the 1940's. Peaches were processed and marketed either as dried or canned and as fresh when refridgerated railroad cars were developed. As more farmers were involved in growing peaches they also created helpful organizations such as the California Peach Growers. In this photograph, the building is located next to the railroad tracks as at that time the majority of peaches were shipped via the railroad.
