Description
Picture of Clovis Grammar School, built in 1918 and demolished in 1952. Ernest J. Kump was the architect and E.P. Smith was the contractor. Constructed with Romanesque Revival architectural elements as was the second of two schools built on the same site. The Clovis District was established in 1895, dispersed its students to the Weldon and Sierra Vista elementary schools in 1952, and merged with other school districts to form the Clovis Unified School District in 1959.
