Fourth of July picnic in Santiago Park in Irvine; large group of mostly women and children sit on benches beneath flag bunting strung across the trees; the group is facing a wreath and stack of rifles at the far right; in front of audience are five or six young men with drums, possibly wearing Civil War Union Army kepi caps; identified figure of woman in third row, far left wearing a white dress and dark hat is Nettie Aubert (step-great aunt of Pansy Pellegrin Van Oost), a popular Anaheim Sunday school teacher.
