Description
Karen Dellenbach, "Zabriskie Point: Antonioni Shoots the Movement," The Plain Rapper, Vol 1 (2), February 10, 1969,p 7. Michelangelo Antonioni shot the first ten minutes of Zabriskie Point at the Free Church on 2200 Parker Street in January 1969. This was arranged by Anthony Nugent. Nugent remembers that this discussion between black and white radicals was reenacted in real life with a similar debate during the Third World Liberation Front demonstrations in February. Along with some well known radicals (Kathleen Cleaver and Bill Garaway), there are a few Free Church members present: Nugent , Glen Clarke and the man who looks like Che Guevara. The church received $1750 from MGM.
