Description
Color slide of the front of Mount of Olives Lutheran Church in Mission Viejo, California. It appears that the photograph may have been taken before a Sunday morning service since the front doors of the church are open, and there are people walking towards the doors, being greeted at the doors, and standing in groups on the sidewalks. The architectural style of the church has a Spanish influence; it has a Spanish tile roof, white stucco siding and is a very tall building with the arch around the doorway spanning from the ground to the roof. On either side of the door are black wrought iron lamps attached to the building. There is a tall tower in front of the church; it is made of four dark brown posts. At the top of the tower, one can see the bottom portion of the cross. To the right of the church building are two long, short buildings sitting perpendicular to one another in an "L" shape. They also have a Spanish tile roof and white stucco siding. There is an open lawn area adjacent to these buildings. In the immediate foreground of the photograph are two Chevrolet station wagons. On the frame of the slide is a label that reads "OC-030, Frame 011"; in handwriting on the frame is "Mount of Olives Lutheran Church."
