R.F.D. [Rural Free Delivery] horse-drawn mail carriage; image shows Frank Eastman, postal carrier, sitting in his home-made four-wheeled, horse-drawn covered carriage; Mr. Eastman was carrier for route 1, which he covered on foot before building his delivery wagon; a sidewalk, picket fence, and large trees are visbile in background; signage on wagon reads "U.S. R.F.D."
