Description
Sericulture was initiated in what is now Piedmont in 1880 by the Ladies Silk Culture Society. Warren B. Ewer, who supervised the venture, is seen with a scope examining coccoons. From the Joseph R. Knowland collection at the Oakland History Room, Oakland Public Library. Number in collection : 314 / F-1677.
