Description
Image shows six-horse team hauling barrel of drinking water to Harry Phillips' "new" ranch home in an area that later became the Palos Verdes Golf Course. The water was drawn from a well near the old ranch where Harry F. Phillips Senior had dug a well. Built in 1910 as the second home for the Phillips family, the new ranch was located in Blackwater Canyon to the northeast of the present intersection of Palos Verdes Drive North and Rolling Hills Road in Rolling Hills Estates.
