May Day Parade, Orange, California, 1951. Image shows view looking north down South Glassell Street toward Plaza Square with a servicemen riding in a convertible automobile. Crowds are visible on sidewalk in background. Signage for Sangster's Dry Goods and Doll Repairing, Orange Hardware, Orange Food Market, and Gunther's Clothing businesses visible in background. The May Festival, which began in 1933 and also included the May Day Parade, continued to be held until 1991.
