Description
Located on Front Street between Main and Crane Streets, the L. Strauss & Co. was a general store. A variety of merchandise was available including clothing, canned food, kerosene, and farm equipment, such as the disk setting against the fence to the left of the building. The sign above the store depicts a running horse to advertise a product called National Condition Powders. The building to the left of the fence is the saloon and barber shop of Raymond Le Cussan. These two businesses were among the buildings that were destroyed by a fire in 1893.
