Description
San Rafael Military Academy, San Rafael, California, circa 1926. The San Rafael Military Academy was the successor of the Mount Tamalpais Academy, founded in San Rafael in 1890 by Dr. Arthur Crosby. Its name changed to the San Rafael Academy when the school was sold to A. L. Stewart in 1925. The San Rafael Academy closed in 1971 and reopened in 1972 as today's Marin Academy.
