Description
Roland Court apartments located on 233 South Orange Street, Orange, California, 2003. The Bungalow Court was an investment of Roland G. Bookless, , owner of the Orange Music store, and was constructed in 1923 for $25,000. The one-story Mediterranean Revival apartment court is built on a U-plan, comprised of nine three-room apartments, and opens onto a central courtyard. The roof is flat with adobe tiles along the cornice line and the facades are sided in stucco. The most distinguishing feature of the building is the three-part, arched entry gate; a large central arch with an ornamental parapet is flanked on either side of a smaller arch. Building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
