Description
Vera Schultz, Marin's first woman supervisor, was instrumental in the selection of Frank Lloyd Wright as the architect for the Marin County Civic Center. She was inspired to contact Frank Lloyd Wright after reading a feature about his work in House Beautiful magazine. Frank Lloyd Wright was formally chosen as the architect in July, 1957. The Administration Building and Hall of Justice commenced construction in 1960 and 1966 respectively. The two-part complex was completed in 1969, 10 years after Wright's death.
