View of the MelodyLand Theatre under construction; located at 400 West Freedman Way (originally 10 W. Freedman Way), Anaheim; Southern California's first theater-in-the-round, the $1.5 million theater was built by producers Sammy Lewis and Danny Dare; opened with "Annie Get Your Gun" on July 2, 1963; building bought in 1969 by Rev. Ralph Wilkerson and reopened as the MelodyLand Christian Center; demolished in 2003.
