Portrait of Theodore and Clementine Schmidt, ca. 1871; members of the original Los Angeles Vineyard Society and vintners; Clementine divorced Schmidt in 1874 and married Augustus Langenberger; image shows half-length view of the couple seated, with Schmidt's right arm around Clementine's shoulders; Schmidt is dressed in dark jacket, vest and trousers, with a white shirt and dark bow tie; Clementine is dressed in a dark dress with white lace collar and cuffs, belt with large, rectangular buckle and a large cameo brooch at her throat.
