A vew of the second Inn at Muir Woods, California, accessible primarily by the Mt. Tamalpais and Muir Woods Railroad. Text describes the complexity of the railroad including its well-known Double Bow Knot which paralleled itself five times within 300 feet while climbing ninety five vertical feet. The Mt. Tamalpais and Muir Woods Railroad ran from 1896 until 1929, from downtown Mill Valley, California to near the summit of Mt. Tamalpais, with a second line descending the West side of Mt. Tamalpais to Muir Woods beginning in 1907.
