Description
Thistle Towel Company display at the California Products convention in Orange, California. Image shows front view of the display booth, with signage that reads, "Thistle Towel Co. / M. ELTISTE PROP." and "CALIF. PRODUCTS / ORANGE CALIF." The company was located on the southwest corner of Cypress Street and Almond Avenue in Orange, California, 1929. The building previously housed the West Coast Textile Company, which went bankrupt and was purchased by Michael Eltiste. By 1931 it became known as the Eltiste Textile Mills and in its last years in the mid-1930s, it was known as the California Textile Mills. Photograph inscribed in lower right corner in white text, "INMAN / 5817" for the photographer, Inman Co., of Long Beach, California. Photo ink-stamped on reverse with "THE INMAN CO. / Commercial and Advertising Photographers / Phone 629-35 / 800 Kress Building / Long Beach, Calif." Photographic print B&w 19.7 x 24.5 cm.
