Description
Thistle Towel Company, located at the southwest corner of West Almond Avenue and South Cypress Street, Orange, California, ca. 1920. Owned by Michael Eltiste. Hand-colored postcard image shows corner view of building from across the street, with several figures standing near the doorway on sidewalk and three automobiles visible in the street. Reverse of postcard printed with alphabetical list of Southern California cities and various stores where Thistle Towel Products can be purchased. The building previously housed the West Coast Textile Company, which went bankrupt and was purchased by Michael Eltiste. By 1931 it became known as the Eltiste Textile Mills and in its last years in the mid-1930s, it was known as the California Textile Mills. Postcard Color 7.6 x 12.9 cm.
