Description
Photo taken during the Nakano family's 1935 trip to Japan on the Chichibu Maru of the Nippon Yusen Kaish Line. Photograph from the Nakano family album. Asataro Nakano and Misao Gyotoku Nakano immigrated from Japan in the early 1900s. They settled in West Sacramento where they purchased land to farm. Their three children include: Margaret Shigeko Nakano, Ruth Kikue Nakano, and George Asato Nakano. The Nakano family and extended family members were sent to the Amache Relocation Center during the Internment period. Upon release they settled in Denver, Colorado.
