Description
The photograph depicts the trestle of the Central Pacific Railroad Co. crossing San Antonio Creek below the dam that formed Lake Merritt. Vessels docked in Alameda are visible in the distance. The trestle was the last obstacle overcome in the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad. Negative number in Oakland History Room's collection : F-180.
