Description
KOOPMANN FAMILY, 1890s. Born in Germany, John Koopmann arrived in California in 1852. Looking for a way to invest some of his earnings, he purchased 200 acres of land for $3,000 in Alameda County in 1864. He decided to move to this property permanently around 1870. John Koopman lived on his farm until his death in 1873.
