A group of 14 Japanese orchard workers crouch in a semicircle around a pile of Tussock moth cocoons which have been removed from fruit trees. The cocoons would later be burned. Behind the workers are a well dressed man and woman. The man has a small notebook and may be tallying the number of cocoons picked per worker. Several of the workers have their dogs with them.
