Description
Crate label for "Zeus Brand" Valencias, Olive Heights Citrus Association, Olive, California, 1930. The color lithograph label illustrates a landscape with orange background, with a seated green statue of Zeus holding a staff and lightning bolt, an eagle perched to his left. Red text with "ZEUS" is across top of the label and Olive Heights packing house information in light green against a royal blue background runs along the bottom. Printed in lower left corner is "SCHMIDT LITHO. CO. L.A." The Olive Heights Citrus Association was located by the railroad tracks on Orange-Olive Road, and was incorporated on November 14, 1914. It burned down in 1927 but was rebuilt across the street and when it closed in 1984, it was one of four remaining packing houses in Orange County. Lithograph Color 25.8 x 27.8 cm
