Description: Portrait of Samuel Lewis Givens, born in Kentucky 1842; arrived in Mariposa County 1853 with parents Thomas and Catherine Givens, who settled at Texas Ranch, Hornitos, Calif.; Samuel settled at ranch on Bear Creek, Merced County 1878.
