S. E. corner of the Capistrano Mission, 1936. View of a fence with a rustic structure behind it. A room with tiled roof is partially visible. Wooden fence is on the left. The Mission was founded in 1776 with a large spurt in building occurring in 1794. Walls were made of adobe, roofs of heavy tile and floors of "mission" tile or packed earth.
