Description
View is of the Upland Volunteer Fire Department posed in front of E. A. Bowen's store on 2nd Avenue, Upland (Calif.). Identified on the back of the photograph are from the left front row: Chief Fletcher H. Manker, and his son Robert Manker the mascot. The others in the photograph are unidentified. The uniform tops of some of the men have a police sash diagonally across their shirts. It appears there is one police officer in the photograph-there is one man with a star badge on his shirt and his hat does not have UVFD (Upland Volunteer Fire Department). This man's hat and Chief Manker's hat have an insignia on them.
