Description
Corporal Tadashi Takeuchi was killed in action in the rescue of the Lost Battalion, Vosges Mountains, France, October 30, 1944. Corporal Tadashi Takeuchi was from Company C, 100th Battalion, 442 Regimental Combat Team. He received the Purple Heart and CIB after his death. The Tule Lake Directory and Camp News by H. Inukai states on August 18, 1943: "Cpl. Tadashi T. Takeuchi, from Camp Robinson, Arkansas, arrived August 23 to visit his parents at #2114-B." This was probably the last time that he saw his parents before he died in 1944."
