Description
Clipping from the Glendale News-Press, Friday, Oct. 19, 1945. "Old friends, with tear-filled eyes, lingered on the lawns of El Miradero, as the body of Mrs. L.C. Brand was borne from the home she loved so dearly down the broad terraced walk. Following the Rev. Clarence H. Parlour, rector of St. Mark’s Episcopal church, are the honor guard, H.E. Coombs and Jerry Sandmand, motorcycle officers, and the pallbearers Garrald Hall, W.J. Steinbrink, Roy Armstrong, A.G. McCulloch, E.F. Skaggs and A.C. Hayworth, officers of the Glendale Police Department"--Caption from left photo. "Nature’s rich simplicity and quiet beauty, so dear to the heart of Mrs. L.C. Brand, provided the setting late yesterday afternoon for the final farewell of relatives and few close friends in the private cemetery on a secluded hillside in the Brand estate. In this scenic, wooded spot she was buried by the side of her husband, pioneer resident who played an important part in the development of the city of Glendale"--Caption from right photograph. Photographs by Salvador J. Felix. Title supplied by cataloger.
