Description
Orange City Park wading pool with fountain, Orange, California, ca. 1952. Image shows children playing in water, identified as Leonard Perkins sitting on side of pool in foreground, Kathie Perkins in water behind him, with Vicky and Karen Perkins standing on fountain in background. Original Plaza Park fountain, visible in background, was first installed in Plaza Park in 1887 and later replaced in 1937 by a tile and electric fountain constructed by the Westinghouse Electric Company. In 1940 the original fountain was moved to the wading pool next to the Plunge in Orange City Park (renamed Hart Park in 1964), and the birds removed. It was later removed from Hart Park and placed in storage, restored in 1981and installed in front of City Council Chambers in Orange.
