Hewes Park staff homes, El Modena, California. Image shows two homes, built on the Hewes property for use by the staff, surrounded with palm trees and landscaping. Hewes Park, located in the El Modena area, was a popular destination for Orange residents from 1904 through the 1940s. Hewes Park was built in 1905 by David Hewes (1822-1915), capitalist, philanthropist and land developer, who hired Robert G. Fraser to design the park, which became a popular destination for Orange residents through the 1940s.
