Accession number: P425 Left-hand postcard written on reverse in pencil, "Property of Mildred Yorba MacArthur / gift Anaheim Library / Sept. 15, 1961 / Anaheim Landing" Anaheim Landing, located at the NE corner of Seal Beach Blvd. and Electric Ave, in what is now known as Seal Beach (incorporated 1915); in 1857, the Anaheim Lighter Company (Frederick Schneider, president) established Anaheim Landing as a port for the Santa Ana Valley; despite treacherous entrance conditions that caused several disasters, regular coastwise trade was carried on here for about 15 years; image, divided across two postcards, shows landing with pier and telegraph wires, figures standing on shore and in several small boats; printed across lower left corner with "BAY CITY AT ANAHEIM LANDING."
