Description
REIMERS FAMILY, 1900s. Claus Reimers was born in Germany in 1864. After arriving in Dublin, he became the proprietor of the Amador Valley Hotel. In 1892, he became a naturalized citizen of the United States. Pictured from left to right are Ellen (1887-1958) (probably), Rudolph (1888-1947), Ernest (1894-1965), Augusta (mother), Claus (father), Arthur (1891-1943), and Walter. In a common practice of the day, photographers would travel from town to town, asking people if they wanted their picture taken. (Courtesy Leo Reimers.)
